Gain Skill Mastery

You know that food can make a huge difference to mental health.

You’ve seen family, friends, and clients struggle with mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and ADHD. You might even deal with mental health symptoms yourself. You know more can be done.

That’s why we made the Functional Mental Health Bundle. Learn our proprietary FIGS Protocol© for analyzing the biological underpinnings of mental health symptoms, as well as evidence-based, personalized interventions that work.

If you’re seeking a way to understand the nutritional root-cause for mental health symptoms, this is the bundle for you. And we’ve included plenty of client-ready handouts and assessment tools that you can use immediately in your practice.

This training is for you if . . .

  • You are a therapist, health coach, CHES, or nutritionist

  • If you’re looking to provide nutritional support for mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, and ADHD

  • You like giving personalized recommendations, rather than “one-size-fits-all” advice

  • You want a toolbox filled with helpful reading/podcast suggestions as well as downloads and assessments to use with clients.

Introducing

Functional Mental Health Nutrition Training

This digital course—jam-packed with practical tools, comprehensive training, and detailed resources—is everything you need to support your clients with nutrition for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and more!

Included in the bundle:

The FIGS Protocol ©

If you’re looking for a way to think through mental health symptoms from the nutrition perspective, think FIGS. In this 10-hour module, you’ll learn to look at Food, Inflammation, the Gut-brain axis, and Stress Hormones when assessing any new case.

Rather than being a generic protocol that you use for every client you see, FIGS is an assessment tool that uses a functional root-cause approach to determine the most effective, least invasive interventions.

You’ll come away with the knowledge and confidence to support your clients’ mental health with food, supplementation, lifestyle, and mind-body medicine interventions that make a big impact.

Special Topics: Trauma, Vagal Tone, and Sleep

You likely already know the impact that trauma and lack of sleep have on the body. But did you know you can positively impact both by stimulating the vagus nerve? In this 4-hour module, we’ll explore nutrition for trauma, sleep, and stimulating the vagus nerve to provide more regulation and widen our window of tolerance.

Supplement Guides

Making food changes can be hard when you’re dealing with mood issues. That’s why we’ve included quick start supplement and testing protocols for Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and acute/chronic Trauma that you can use immediately with clients.

Lab Interpretation Guide

Understand your client’s conventional and functional lab tests and how they relate to mental heath. Learn to interpret standard lab testing (CBC, CMP, lipid panels, thyroid) as well as functional tests (comprehensive stool panels, organic acid tests, cortisol, and reproductive hormone tests).

Eating for Mental Health

Your clients don’t know what to eat. That’s why we included the following recipe bundles: High Omega-3 Recipes; Anxiety-Relieving Recipes with Magnesium; Increasing Turmeric; Anti-Inflammatory Recipes; Adding Color to Your Diet; Low FODMAP recipes; High Protein Foods; Snacks, Breakfasts, Lunches, and Dinners; Plant-Based Meals, and more!

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • In this two-hour module, we’ll do a deep dive into what functional nutrition is, and how we use it to achieve better mental health.

  • We’ll begin with the F in FIGS - food! You’ll learn how to assess whether someone’s diet contains the foods they need to make the chemicals to feel good.

  • Systemic inflammation is a root cause of many mental health symptoms. In this module, we’ll seek to understand why inflammation happens, and how we can break the feedback loop to feel better.

  • You already know that the gut influences the brain, but do you know what to do about it? Learn to teach the gut to send messages of safety and support to the rest of the body using bottom-up nutrition approaches.

  • Did you know that 75-90% of doctors visits are caused by the wear and tear on the body caused by stress? In this module, we’ll take a deep dive into stress hormones, and discuss how we can modulate them with nutrition to improve chronic stress response.

  • In this module, we’ll discuss nutrition both for acute and chronic trauma, and pay special attention to creating interventions that are accessible during times of intense stress.

  • The vagus nerve serves as communication from the gut to the brain. It also is highly involved in the parasympathetic rest and digest response. We can intentionally seek to stimulate rest and digest messaging with supplementation, food and lifestyle interventions.

  • If your client isn’t sleeping, their mental health will suffer. It is really that simple. What isn’t simple is supporting people to achieving better sleep with nutrition, which is why we’ll do a deep dive into all the nutritional challenges that may impact sleep and what to do about them.

  • In this four-hour module, you’ll discover how to interpret both conventional tests (CBC, CMP, lipid panels) as well as functional tests (comprehensive stool, organic acids, cortisol, thyroid, and reproductive hormones) so you can make better recommendations for your clients.

  • We’ll provide supplement protocols that allow you to build client interventions based on their test results.

  • We’ve included supplement protocols for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma.

  • This module is a deep dive into making change happen at the dinner table. We’ll discuss not only what to eat, but how to get people to make positive changes with food.

  • We’ve included recipe packs that you can download and provide to your clients. These packs are created intentionally to support different mental health nutrition approaches and include: High Omega-3 Recipes; Anxiety-Relieving Recipes with Magnesium; Increasing Turmeric; Anti-Inflammatory Recipes; Adding Color to Your Diet; Low FODMAP recipes; High Protein Foods; Snacks, Breakfasts, Lunches, and Dinners; Plant-Based Meals, and more!
