  • Yes! Meal Support is open to anyone with any specialty starting in month 2. Host Virtual Meal Support; play party games, facilitate pleasant conversation... hold space for folks in eating disorder recovery to eat their meal. Meet the clinical competency for "eating behavior" and get Direct Category C hours AND Community Hours

  • You will receive training both live and recorded, including attending at least one meal support session as a participant to learn more. You’ll also have a partner so you won’t have to go it alone.

  • Yes! As a Meal Support Facilitator, you are not providing 1:1 MNT, rather hosting/monitoring the meal in a pleasant and neutral manner; for many early career nutritionists, this is a great way to explore if this space is a fit. If you are interested in mental health nutrition, GI, hormones, metabolic health, then this is a great space for you to hone your skills as a nutrition professional.

  • Yes! After providing Meal Support for at least a month, you can be considered for 1:1 placements through Project Heal. This can count for more hours towards your CNS Credential.

  • We request 2 months of a commitment. You will be assigned a “shift” of 2 meals (either 2 “lunches” or “dinners” back to back, at least 1 day a week. If you need to miss a session you can get someone to sub for you. You’ll get 2 hours of direct category C when participants attend your 2 meals.

  • Yes you will need to have food and eat something. In the training we discuss ways to be present with your food in ways that are supportive to participants but don’t make you have to eat two full meals back to back. Most facilitators have conversation topics ready, or party games that help distract participants to make eating more easy. This is not group therapy, it is not a support group, more so safe space to distract and eat for those in recovery. You can learn more by attending a meal support session as a participant!

  • There is a holiday schedule, and we do not host meals on major holidays. If you need a sub, you can request coverage from the group of volunteers. This is a great way to also connect with other Clinician’s Incubator nutritionists and learn more about your colleagues.

  • If you attend a group, please act as a participant and bring something to eat so as to be supportive of the other participants who are in recovery.
